Jul 19, 2024. #1. Bought new socks for Alaska this fall, been seeing a lot of people say good things about the Darn Tough Socks so I ordered 4 pair. Work boots in this 100deg heat is a good test. No stink, minimal feet sweating, and great comfort! Will see long term how they are. These are replacing my Redhead brand socks.

You could go bigger or just get a second 36. That would allow you to deploy one when the wind was light and the second if the wind picked up. That would give you the drag area of the 50. They’re thin and very snug fitting and they’re sold as Cold Gear 2.0 and Cold Gear 3.0 with the higher number being for colder weather. The leggings work well at keeping me warm as does the top. Not bulky and very effective. I have a 2.0 and 3.0 set.

Some of the thorlos are super thin with padding in the bottom and lace areas of the foot. My preference is socks that breath and dry quickly. I'm not a fan of cotton.
